The Edmonton Oilers defeated the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 in Game 7 of their Stanley Cup Playoff series on Monday night at Rogers Arena.

The Oilers controlled the game for over 50 minutes and led 3-0 with about 10 minutes left in the third period. However, the Canucks rallied with two goals in the final minutes to make it a close finish.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored the game-winning goal for the Oilers with just over five minutes remaining in the third period. Connor McDavid and Evan Bouchard also scored for the Oilers.

Thatcher Demko made 36 saves for the Canucks, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Oilers from advancing to the second round of the playoffs.

The Oilers will now face the Calgary Flames in the second round of the playoffs. The Flames defeated the Dallas Stars in six games in their first-round series.
